We are professional, agile, innovative and our goal is to identify a passionate and experienced teacher to join our team as a K-12 Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing school and help shape our curriculum and instructional approach. The ideal candidate for this position has a background in education, has exceptional communication skills, and a passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement comprehensive art curricula aligned with K-12 standards, incorporating elements of literacy, math, and other core subjects as appropriate. Develop lesson plans that integrate creative writing, visual arts, and hands-on projects to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other learning technology tools to deliver instruction, track progress, and assess student performance. Manage classroom activities effectively, employing classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment conducive to artistic growth. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with autism or requiring special education accommodations. Prepare students for standardized testing related to arts assessments and provide tutoring or additional support as needed. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and extracurricular art programs. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, behavior management, Montessori methods, early childhood education, preschool experience, and other relevant areas. Proofread student work for clarity and quality while providing constructive feedback to foster improvement.
Skills:
Valid New York State teaching certification in art
REQUIRED
Strong knowledge of art curriculum development and lesson planning Experience with integrating learning technology into classroom instruction. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff. Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or autism spectrum disorder. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures in arts education and experience in tutoring or academic advising. Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and early childhood education practices such as school methodologies. Assist with IEPS, 504A, other necessary accommodations for all students Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons that align with Common Core State Standards and school-wide goals Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment conducive to creative exploration. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with special education requirements, or behavioral challenges. Assess student work regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing when applicable. Provide individualized tutoring or academic advising to support students' artistic and overall educational development. Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities. Use data to inform instructional decisions and personalize learning for individual students Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports student learning and growth Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their progress and performance Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices Proven experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development for K-12 settings. Experience working with children with diverse needs, including those in special education programs. Skills in creative writing, proofreading, and integrating literacy education into art lessons.
