We offer year-round sewing and art camps and classes across King County. Our objective is to support the communities of Western Washington through a passion for equitable arts education. Little Hands Creations provides a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for both our students and instructors. We strive for our students to feel heard and seen, and for our instructors to value the process over the product. The number one priority for any LHC position is the ability to have FUN! Sewing and craft experience can be minimal, but the desire to work with groups of children is an absolute must! You must be enthusiastic, cheerful, and dependable, with your own reliable transportation. Our After-school Enrichment session begins September and runs through June with teaching shifts between 3:00-5:00pm (roughly). Summer-camps bring the possibility of part-time and full-time opportunities. The majority of these camps are held at schools and community centers in Seattle, Shoreline, West Seattle and Bellevue; however, we offer our own on-site indoor and outdoor camps in Roosevelt, and White Center This position will start training asap with approximately 15 hours per week. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Meet at Roosevelt/White Center studio to pick up supplies for the week
  • Pick up and loading supplies and transport to different schools.
  • Lifting, moving, and rearranging class supplies, tables, and chairs for class
  • Set out supplies for class
  • Take attendance and report any missing students to appropriate staff.
  • Instruct and engage students through sewing and crafting class
  • Maintain students' attention using a variety of different learning style techniques to support students through their tasks. Redirect students when loosing focus.
  • Break down lessons into simple step by step instructions.
  • Able to multi task
  • Administer basic first aid as needed.
  • Check students out of class
  • Pack up equipment/tools, clean, sweep, and return the room and furniture to the way it was. Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Fully vaccinated for Covid-19 including a booster
  • Must be able to pass a Washington State school background check
  • Previous experience with groups of elementary age children in a summer camp, tutoring, after school care preferred
  • A fun and exuberant attitude towards sewing/crafting and teaching kids.
  • A punctual and professional attitude.
  • Ability to lift 20lbs in and out of your car (cart will be provided)
  • Reliable Transportation to and from schools
