Job Description
Looking for Art Instructors! Open Arts Studio is a fun, welcoming, and vibrant art studio located in Tacoma's historic Stadium District. As a school of the arts, we teach both traditional and modern fine art techniques in a safe, supportive, and non-competitive environment. Our goal is to give students the skills, confidence, and freedom to explore their creativity and develop their own artistic voice. Our teaching philosophy is built around three fundamental elements: technique, creativity, and fun . We believe these three elements are essential for building confidence and encouraging self-expression. We are currently seeking passionate, creative, and engaging art instructors to join our teaching team. Our adult classes welcome students with a range of experience levels, from beginners to intermediate and advanced artists. Students range from beginners to intermediate artists, so the ability to teach foundational skills while also helping more experienced students develop their techniques is important. All of our classes run for 6 weeks, meeting once a week for 2 hours. Watercolor Instructor We are looking for a Watercolor Instructor to lead a small group of 4-10 adult students through the fundamentals and techniques of watercolor painting. Acrylic Painting Instructor We are looking for an enthusiastic Acrylic Painting Instructor to lead a group of 4-12 adult students in acrylic painting techniques and processes. Drawing & Painting Instructor We are also looking for a Drawing & Painting Instructor who is comfortable teaching a variety of traditional and modern art mediums. You will lead a group of 4-12 adult students in drawing and painting techniques, including graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, and acrylic . Students range from beginners to intermediate artists, so the ability to teach foundational skills while encouraging students to grow creatively is essential. We're looking for instructors who are: Passionate about art and teaching Knowledgeable and experienced in their medium Comfortable teaching students with different skill levels Patient, encouraging, and personable Able to create a fun, supportive, and non-competitive classroom environment Excited to help students build confidence and develop their creativity Interested in joining the Open Arts Studio teaching team?
