Role Summary The Intervention Teacher plays a critical role in advancing Voices' mission to ensure all learners achieve grade-level proficiency and beyond within our dual-language, full-inclusion instructional model. Under the supervision of the leadership team, the Intervention Teacher designs and delivers targeted, data-driven instruction in literacy and/or mathematics for students requiring additional academic support. This role emphasizes accelerated learning through explicit, standards-based instruction and developmentally appropriate, language-rich approaches aligned to students' needs. Intervention Teachers work in close partnership with classroom teachers, special education staff, and school leaders to implement cohesive intervention cycles that are responsive and accountable to student data. The ideal candidate is a reflective practitioner with strong content knowledge, a commitment to bilingualism and biliteracy, and a deep belief that all students can meet high academic expectations when provided with the right support.

Key Responsibilities Teaching:

Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to determine which students require intervention services and the most appropriate course of action for each student. Design and deliver intensive, small-group and individualized (Tier 2 and Tier 3) intervention in language arts and mathematics aligned to California State Standards. Implement evidence-based intervention strategies, including explicit instruction, guided practice, progress monitoring, and timely feedback. Provide instruction that is linguistically responsive and aligned to Voices' dual-language model, supporting language development alongside content mastery. Adapt instruction based on student needs, assessment data, and input from classroom teachers and other specialists. Prioritize push-in intervention models that support students within core instruction whenever possible; when pull-out intervention is necessary, schedule services during non-core instructional times to minimize disruption to grade-level content and language development. Establish a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes engagement, persistence, and academic confidence. Administer diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to identify learning needs, monitor student progress, and support students in successfully exiting intervention through demonstrated mastery. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student data records in designated electronic systems. Share progress monitoring data, intervention outcomes, and instructional recommendations with classroom teachers and school leadership on a biweekly basis.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with colleagues, leadership, families, community partners, and service providers to advance the school's vision; align curriculum; share best practices; participate in grade-level planning and school-wide activities; and identify and address individual student needs through ongoing reflection and teamwork. Collaborate weekly with classroom teachers to align intervention goals with core instruction and ensure coherence across learning environments. Participate in problem-solving and student support meetings, including SST and IEP meetings as appropriate. Contribute to the refinement of schoolwide intervention systems and practices through feedback and shared learning. Identify unique student needs and collaborate with other team members and outside service providers to diagnose and address learning challenges.

Actively engage in and seek out professional development opportunities and professional learning communities, demonstrating responsibility for addressing personal knowledge gaps while participating in school-provided training (including retreats), planning, data analysis, and collaborative meetings. Required Qualifications:

Proficient or Master teacher level if an internal hire

CA Credential:

Clear Multiple-Subject or Single-Subject Bachelor's degree required Familiarity with MTSS frameworks, progress monitoring tools, and intervention programs. Demonstrated success providing academic interventions, particularly in literacy and/or mathematics. Strong data literacy, including the ability to use multiple data sources to identify student needs, monitor progress, and determine readiness for exit from intervention. Strong knowledge of California Common Core Standards and evidence-based instructional practices. Demonstrated dedication to Voices Academies' mission and values, with a commitment to public education, equity, social justice, and accelerating academic growth for students from low-income communities. Ability to work independently, have flexibility, and demonstrate success in working with school-age children. Native-like or near-native oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish, including the ability to communicate effectively in academic, professional, and classroom contexts. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, experience interacting with a broad range of stakeholders, and basic technological proficiency, including logging into platforms, accessing and composing emails, navigating spreadsheets, creating documents and slides, and using QR codes. Works well in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Valid bilingual authorization (BCLAD or equivalent, BCC, ELD, or LDS, etc.) Knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities. Understanding of dual immersion instructional practices and school design, first and second language acquisition, and the unique characteristics of public charter schools in California. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
