Long Term SubTESOL/MLL
(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages/Multi-Lingual Learners) Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students who are English language learners (ELLs). This role involves helping students acquire the English language skills necessary for academic success and social integration. TheTESOL/MLL
Teacher will work with students to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities in English, in alignment with state and district standards.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective ESL instruction that meets the academic needs of diverse learners. Assess students' English language proficiency and monitor their academic progress. Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure integrated support for ELLs across all subject areas. Adapt lessons and teaching methods to cater to the varying language levels and learning styles of students. Provide individualized support to students as needed, ensuring access to the curriculum and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and involve them in the learning process. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices inTESOL/MLL
instruction. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.Minimum Requirements:
Strong commitment to helping students achieve language proficiency and academic success.Preferred Requirements:
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable. Valid State of Connecticut Certification (111) Strong commitment to helping students achieve language proficiency and academic success.Application Process:
