Job Description
Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School, an "A"-rated, college preparatory charter school in Miami-Dade County, is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and knowledgeable Certified ESOL to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year . This position focuses on teaching English Language Learners (ELLs), while preparing students with the literacy skills needed for academic success, standardized assessments, and college readiness. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher Florida Department of Education Certification in English 6-12, Reading K-12, or ESOL (Temporary, Professional, or Statement of Eligibility) Experience teaching Language Arts, Reading, or ESOL at the middle or high school level preferred Responsibilities Deliver engaging English Language Arts and Reading instruction aligned with curriculum standards Support English Language Learners through ESOL strategies and targeted interventions Create and implement lesson plans that promote literacy, writing, and critical thinking skills Prepare students for success on standardized assessments (F.A.S.T., SAT, ACT, etc.) Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of native speakers and English Language Learners Maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environment Communicate consistently with parents, colleagues, and administrators Collaborate with the
ELA/ESOL
