Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASL and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. You will be responsible for teaching ASL to students 8th-12 grade and skill levels, promoting effective communication and cultural understanding within the Deaf community. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging ASL lesson plans tailored to the needs and proficiency levels of students.
• Teach students the fundamentals of ASL, including vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills.
• Create a supportive and interactive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
• Organize and participate in community events or workshops to promote ASL and Deaf culture.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate ASL into the broader curriculum.
• Stay updated on best practices in ASL education and participate in professional development opportunities. Requirements Professional Educator's License with appropriate endorsements to teach ASL from 8th grade through High School. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong understanding of Deaf culture.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in ASL or a related field, is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a positive learning environment.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as required.
