Job Summary:
Sizer School, a North Central Charter Essential School, is seeking a driven, dynamic and experienced Spanish teacher to be a part of the school's instructional team. This candidate will bring a passion for implementing and supporting best instructional practices, and a commitment to further promote an already existing positive collaborative school environment. Essential Functions (include but are not limited to)
Teach Spanish I and II classes with a focus on language fluency and literacy
Actively participate in the work of the school, including innovative curriculum development, project-based learning, and assessment
Utilize and integrate technology and multimedia modalities to enhance instruction and student learning
Communicate proactively and effectively with students, faculty, and parents/guardians
Provide frequent, constructive, objective, and prompt feedback to students
Promote the learning and growth of all students by providing high-quality, coherent, and culturally-proficient instruction
Design units of instruction with measurable outcomes and challenging tasks
Demonstrate instructional practices that establish high expectations, and create a safe and effective classroom environment
Adapt instruction, materials, and assessments to make challenging material accessible to all students, including English learners and students with disabilities
Act as an advisor to a group of students and shape curriculum and practice to support the whole student
Reflect on the effectiveness of lessons, units, and interactions with students, both individually and with colleagues, and use insights gained to improve practice and student learning
Participate in school-wide and subject specific professional development and grade-level team meetings
