More than 30 Starting Salary Range $19+ depending on qualifications Description Good Shepherd Catholic School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Long-Term Spanish Substitute Teacher to provide engaging Spanish instruction for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The ideal candidate fosters a love of language and culture while creating a positive, faith-filled classroom environment that supports students' academic, social, and spiritual growth. Responsibilities Plan and deliver age-appropriate Spanish lessons for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Teach Spanish vocabulary, conversational skills, songs, games, stories, and cultural traditions through engaging, interactive instruction. Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom where students feel encouraged to participate and take risks in language learning. Maintain continuity with the existing Spanish curriculum and lesson plans while adapting instruction as needed. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Establish and maintain positive classroom routines and effective behavior management aligned with school expectations. Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and administration to support student success. Assess student learning through informal observations and classroom activities. Communicate professionally with school staff and families when appropriate. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school Masses, prayer services, and community events as requested. Uphold the mission and values of Good Shepherd Catholic School. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. Spanish language proficiency required (native or near-native fluency preferred). Experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred. Minnesota teaching license or the ability to obtain appropriate licensure preferred. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for young children.
