Job Description

We are seeking an instructor of Beginner ESL (English as a Second Language). Program classes provide instruction to our Beginner ESL courses (Basics, Foundations and PREP). This is a part-time, hourly position.
Example of Duties:
Provide classroom instruction to participants in our intensive Beginner ESL classes focused on reading, writing, and speaking, in accordance with the College's academic calendar and approved syllabi. Maintain scrupulous attendance. Maintain and report accurate student grade and attendance records using approved procedures and systems. Assist Adult Education staff with student advisement, coaching and registration. Meet all scheduled class sessions. Utilize the appropriate technology, including the College's student learning platform, to fulfill teaching duties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Some experience in teaching low-level ESL required. Best Plus testing certification is plus. Follow curriculum guidelines. Expected to be available on the Main Campus in Paterson and at the Passaic Academic Center. Ability to work during day, evening, and weekend hours, as program requires. The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation:
Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $20-$30.

Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.)
