Job Description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates (CS&A) is an educational recruitment firm that connects teachers with private and independent K-12 schools across the U.S. and abroad. Our free service matches candidates with roles that align with their skills, experience, and goals. We work closely with each educator to help them find a school where they can thrive. We are currently seeking a French Teacher starting in Fall 2026 at a boarding school for girls in the Albany, NY area. Boarding school positions may include on-campus housing and meals (room and board) depending on the role and school.
Note :
This is a one-year leave replacement role with with the possibility of an extension based on school needs.
French Teacher Responsibilities:
Teach several French courses per semester at various proficiency levels for upper school students. Develop engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students. Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods. Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior. Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education. Assist with residential life duties as needed, fostering a safe and supportive living environment for students. Assist with supervising extracurricular activities and/or coaching school athletic teams.
French Teacher Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred. Fluency in French required. No teaching license or credential is required. Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills. Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community. Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
