Bachelor's degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a highly rewarding contract position as a General Education Spanish Teacher in a dynamic educational environment near Wyoming, NY. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who thrives on inspiring middle school students to engage with Spanish language and culture. You'll focus on teaching two periods per day—one for Grade 7 Spanish and another for an 8th grade Spanish 1 course, which offers high school credit. Scheduling is flexible, but the preferred times are the last two periods of the school day, from 1:11 to 2:33 PM.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification in General Education or Modern Languages, with a focus on Spanish Classroom experience teaching Spanish at the middle or high school level is strongly preferred Ability to motivate and connect with students in grades 7 and 8 Strong classroom management skills and clear communication abilities Enthusiasm for fostering a positive, inclusive, and culturally rich classroom environment Willingness to adapt to varying schedules according to school needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging Spanish language instruction for two class periods, maintaining alignment with curriculum and educational standards Develop lesson plans that encourage student participation and language acquisition Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed Foster a climate of inclusivity and enthusiasm where all students feel empowered to learn Collaborate with school staff to enhance the student experience and support school initiatives Experience a fulfilling teaching opportunity with a manageable daily schedule.
