Job Description

Part-Time Bilingual Safety Instructor — English/Spanish (Forklift / MEWP / Fall Protection) Cascade Healthcare Services Llc - 4.0 Tigard, OR Job Details Part-time $33 - $35 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Forklift Certification Spanish Lecture-based instruction Safety regulations English Energy control procedures Forklift Driver's License Machine operation safety procedures Instructor-led training (training delivery method) Fall protection protocols Training machine operators Classroom Teaching Hazardous energy control Adult learning Adult education Full Job Description About the role CITE Safety delivers hands-on industrial safety training — Forklift, MEWP (aerial/scissor lift), Lock-Out/Tag-Out, and Fall Protection — to employers across Oregon and Washington. We're hiring a part-time, W-2 hourly Safety Instructor to teach these courses at client sites. This role requires teaching and evaluating operators fluently in both English and Spanish — many of our client sites need training delivered in Spanish. This is an as-needed role. You tell us your availability, and we schedule you against confirmed client bookings. Work is Monday-Friday during business hours, with occasional evenings or weekends depending on client needs. It's a strong fit for someone who wants flexible, well-paid instructional work rather than a fixed 40-hour week. Expect regular travel to client sites throughout the greater Portland area and across Oregon and Washington. Mileage is paid. What you'll do Deliver engaging, hands-on training in Forklift, MEWP, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, and Fall Protection to industrial audiences (construction, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, utilities, and municipalities). Conduct operator evaluations and confirm participant competency against applicable OSHA standards. Keep accurate, complete records of sessions and participant results. Create a positive, safety-first learning environment for adult learners of varying experience levels. Stay current on the regulations and standards that govern the courses you teach. What you need Ability to teach and conduct operator evaluations fluently in both English and Spanish. This is a core requirement of the role, not a preference. Current OSHA-compliant operator certification for both Forklift and MEWP. This is the baseline requirement. Solid working knowledge of the equipment and of the OSHA standards behind Forklift, MEWP, LOTO, and Fall Protection. Strong presentation and communication skills, and the ability to hold the room with adult learners. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly across Oregon and Washington. A genuine commitment to workplace safety. Strongly preferred Prior experience conducting safety training and operator evaluations — not just holding cards. If you've trained and evaluated others, tell us; it's what we're most looking for. 2+ years in safety training or a closely related field. Additional trainer authorizations or credentials relevant to the courses above. If you hold operator cards but haven't formally instructed before, we'll still consider you — we provide the support to develop qualified instructors. Compensation & details $33-$35 per hour, depending on experience, plus paid mileage. W-2, part-time, hourly — scheduled as needed based on client demand. Monday-Friday business hours; occasional evenings/weekends possible.
