Job Description

The Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences (BBS) is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach a variety of courses for both majors and non-majors. Courses include (but are not limited to) anatomy & physiology, genetics, cell biology, ecology, and microbiology, as well as general biology for non-science majors. Teaching appointments will be in the Fall 2025 and/or the Spring 2026 semesters. See the Department website (https://csm.rowan.edu/departments/bbs) for more information.
Qualifications:
Master's degree required in a subdiscipline of biology or a field of science clearly related to the course being taught. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience, experience with learning management systems (our campus uses Canvas), favorable recommendations from references, and favorable previous teaching evaluations.
Starting Date:
September 2026 for Fall 2026 semester, January 2027 for Spring 2027 semester. Note:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position. In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act , and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.
