Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is one of the world's premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The blending of research with patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians and other health care workers. The Immuno-Oncology Program (IOP) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center invites applications for junior level tenure-track faculty appointments. IOP recruits outstanding physician-scientists and scientists across disciplines into a single program that fosters forward and reverse translational research in cancer immunotherapy. The IOP sits at a critical interface connecting laboratory, translational, and clinical research in an environment that encourages collaborative team science. Current research by IOP faculty spans fundamental mechanisms of immune tolerance; tissue-level, multicellular, and metabolic responses to inflammation, injury, and stress; evolution of host-immune interactions shaped by therapy or malignant progression; and the translational development of cell therapies, cancer vaccines, engineered antibodies, novel agents, and combination strategies. We are interested in candidates with research programs in immuno-oncology. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to develop an independent research program as well as a strong commitment to translational oncology. IOP faculty will be housed in state-of-the-art laboratories in the Zuckerman Research Center and jointly appointed in the Department of their appropriate clinical specialty at MSK, if applicable. Faculty will also be eligible to hold appointments in Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences as well as the Weill Medical School and Graduate School of Medical Sciences at Cornell University. MSK offers a unique and vibrant research environment with programs in Immunology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Cellular Biochemistry, and Structural Biology and close links with the Rockefeller and Cornell communities. The presence of world-renowned clinical programs in cancer research, treatment, and prevention offers unique opportunities for creative collaboration.
