About this Position The Department of Physiological Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine , Oklahoma State University ( https://vetmed.okstate.edu/about/departments.html) is seeking applications for a tenure track faculty position with specialization in bioinformatics, cancer cell biology, metabolomics and advanced data analytic approaches to the complex study of chronic disease. Candidates with demonstrated skills that cross these disciplines will be strongly preferred. Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant field (see departmental research areas below) and should have experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. A DVM, MD, or comparable degree is desirable, but not required. A record of extramural funding is also desirable and will be taken into consideration at the time of appointment for determining rank. Candidates with significant federal funding and a national reputation for research excellence will also be considered for the Sitlington Endowed Chair . Responsibilities of the position will encompass the traditional responsibilities of a land grant university, including research (80%), teaching to veterinary medical and graduate students (10%), and service on departmental and college committees (10%). This is a research intensive position that comes with significant independent research space and a competitive start-up package. The Department of Physiological Sciences encompasses the disciplines of physiology, anatomical sciences, pharmacology, and toxicology. Departmental faculty members are funded by the NIH, including a COBRE grant for respiratory infectious diseases ( https://ocrid.okstate.edu/) , the Department of Defense, USDA, American Heart Association, and other extramural agencies. The Oklahoma State University system enrolls approximately 36,000 students on its four campuses in Stillwater, Tulsa, Okmulgee, and Oklahoma City. Opportunities for multidisciplinary research exist with faculty in the College's three departments, as well as with other faculty on the Stillwater campus and at the OSU Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa.
