Teaching Full Job Description Position Summary:
University of Mid Florida is a new Higher Education institution and is looking for a part-time adjunct online faculty member with a Doctorate degree or PHD in the fields of Hospitalty, Tourism, or Culinary or a Master's degree in such fileds with experience in the field. This position is a growth position. The more the instituition grows you can grow with it. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about teaching, have a commitment to student success, and have a passion for education. We are seeking individuals who are able to demonstrate the ability to effectively teach, lead, and engage students in a manner that is both motivating and informative. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a flexible environment with little supervision and possess the ability to adapt to change as needed.
Responsibilities:
Maintain student engagement in assigned course(s) Assist in the development of course outlines, assignments, and assignments schedules Assist with the development of student learning plans and goals Develop and maintain effective communication with students, faculty, and administration Maintain communication with the office of the provost regarding student progress Maintain communication with the department chair regarding student progress Maintain communication with the administration regarding course related news items Manage assigned course schedule throughout the semester including attendance, attendance reports, and grades Manage any necessary course substitutions as needed Provide feedback on student learning progress to administration and curriculum development team Participate in department meetings as required. To be familiar with LMS systems.
