The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for an Academic General Faculty (AGF, non-tenure track) in TOM, beginning in the fall of 2026. Most commonly, AGFs will be on either a Teaching Track or a Practice Track. For the Teaching Track, primary responsibilities would be teaching and developing curricular materials. For the Practice Track, primary responsibilities would be teaching in both MBA and Executive Education programs and writing with a view to influencing practice. AGF applicants typically bring a distinctive competency to the School without necessarily being expected to engage in the breadth of contribution of a tenured or tenure-track faculty. The TOM area at Darden specializes in influential academic and practitioner-oriented research, and teaching excellence. There is broad latitude with respect to specific area of research interest. The area offers a variety of required and elective courses to residential, part-time, and executive MBA students. TOM faculty also teach actively in Darden's non-degree Executive Education programs. The Darden School of Business offers MBA and executive education programs with a global reach that consistently rank among the best in the world. Description:
Applicants should generally have a PhD in a field related to Technology and Operations Management by the date of appointment. AGF applicants are expected to bring something distinctive to the School, such as outstanding teaching, high visibility and effectiveness in working with practicing managers and executives, or a particularly noteworthy research niche.
