net Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the site administrator, the Elementary School Coach is responsible for organizing, supervising, and coaching an elementary school athletic/activity team. The coach will provide students with a positive, safe, and inclusive experience while developing fundamental skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline:

• Plan and conduct age-appropriate practices, drills, and activities.
• Teach fundamental skills, rules, strategies, and sportsmanship appropriate to the activity or sport.
• Supervise students before, during, and after practices, games, competitions, and related activities.
• Promote a positive, respectful, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
• Maintain appropriate student discipline and reinforce school and district expectations.
• Monitor student safety and respond appropriately to injuries, emergencies, and other health or safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and other coaches.
• Coordinate schedules, equipment, facilities, transportation, and other team-related needs as assigned.
• Maintain appropriate records and complete required forms and reports.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Ensure that coaching activities comply with school, district, league, and applicable California requirements and policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous coaching, athletic, recreational, youth-program, or related experience preferred. Knowledge of basic coaching techniques, age-appropriate physical activities, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elementary-age students. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, staff, and administrators. Ability to provide appropriate supervision and maintain a safe environment. Ability to follow school and district policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Required Conditions of Employment Successful completion of the district's employment screening and background clearance requirements. Current CPR/First Aid certification may be required depending on district policy and assignment. Ability to work the assigned practice and competition schedule, which may include afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends. Must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and comply with all applicable student safety, supervision, and mandated-reporting requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work effectively with elementary-age children from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to motivate students and encourage participation and personal growth. Ability to exercise sound judgment in matters involving student safety and supervision. Ability to work cooperatively with school personnel, families, and community partners. Commitment to modeling positive behavior, sportsmanship, integrity, and respect. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in school, gymnasium, field, playground, or other athletic/activity facilities. The position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting equipment, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The coach must be available during the scheduled season and for practices, games, competitions, meetings, and other assigned activities.
