ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE SPEECH & DEBATE EXPERIENCE.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Speech Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and competition in forensics, with experience working with middle or high school students. The Assistant Coach will work under the Coach and specialize in coaching some of these events for 6th-8th grade students: Impromptu (IMP), Extemporaneous Speaking (EXTEMP), Original Oratory (OO), Informative Speaking (INFO), Humorous Interpretation (HI), Dramatic Interpretation (DI), Storytelling (STO), Duo Interpretation (DUO), Declamation (DEC), Poetry Interpretation, Prose Interpretation, & Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD). Responsibilities Educate students on events that fall under your specialty and assist with writing, skills development, editing, blocking, and performance. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement. Collaborate with Coach on direction and plans. Skills MUST have performance background in speech and debate. Proven experience working with students in educational settings. Practices take place after school on Thursdays from 2:45 pm - 4:45 pm in Culver City, CA. Pay is $30/hour. We are looking for in-person coaches ONLY. Coaches will need to clear a Live Scan and complete a 1 hour online training to work with us.
