The coach will lead practices and games, provide skill development and mentorship for student-athletes, and foster a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with middle school students, enjoys helping young athletes build confidence and character, and is committed to creating a supportive environment where every student can thrive both on and off the court. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and lead dynamic practices that align with and support Turning Point's mission and values Communicate clear behavioral expectations and hold students accountable Foster a positive team culture built on collaboration, respect, and sportsmanship Create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes Provide clear performance goals and ongoing feedback Deliver differentiated instruction to support athletes at various skill levels Set up and break down practice and game-day activities Care for and properly store athletic equipment The essential duties and responsibilities indicate the general nature and level of work expected. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Enjoys working with children in a diverse, inclusive community Skilled in student-centered, collaborative, and inquiry-based coaching methods Proven ability to work well within a dynamic team environment Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with all school stakeholders Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and antiracism Approaches work with professionalism, respect, discretion, and integrity Committed to continuous learning and growth Embodies values such as curiosity, innovation, kindness, agility, and compassion Organized, proactive, and invested in building and developing the volleyball program Education and Experience 1-2 years of coaching experience at the youth, middle school, high school, or college level Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred Demonstrated ability to provide differentiated instruction for athletes of varying skill levels Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and techniques CPR/First Aid certification preferred upon hire and required before start of season Work Schedule and Environment The fall season runs from September 8 through October 30, including 8-10 games over the 8-week period with practices and games held Tuesday through Thursday from 3:25 to 5:10 pm. On game days, availability through 6:00 pm is expected. The position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and demonstrating volleyball skills for extended periods during practices and competitions. Duties include active supervision of student-athletes, operating athletic equipment, and occasionally lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Evening, weekend, and travel commitments may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made as required by law. United States Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
