The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swimming and coaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate students ages 5-18. The coach will work closely with students to develop their skills, confidence, and love for the sport. Duties Assists the head coach in instructing swimmers on the rules, regulations, proper use of equipment, and techniques of competitive swimming. Leads structured practices on weekday afternoons throughout the year. Assesses swimmers' skills, monitors their performance during competitions and practices, and keeps the head coach informed of their progress. Assists the head coach with administrative tasks related to the team, including swim meet arrangements and interacting with parents. Attends all swim team events, such as meets, meetings, and social gatherings. Ensure pool safety Open/close the pool. Minimum availability of 3 weekdays per week + Saturday mornings in June and July (swim meets). Must be able to stand, walk, swim, or sit for prolonged periods. Must be able to coach in cold, wet, and hot weather Experience 2+ years of experience as a competitive swimmer Coaches without prior experience must complete at least 4 weeks of pre-competitive instruction in the water at our facility before or while beginning their coaching role. Strong stroke proficiency to effectively coach all age groups and skill levels. Requirements Demonstrate a positive, outgoing, and friendly disposition Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and leadership Able to communicate effectively with both swimmers and their parents Must be comfortable leading swimmers with confidence, enforcing discipline when necessary, and providing structured coaching, while maintaining a fun environment.
