Qualifications Gymnastics Full Job Description Description:
The main goal of the 'Team Coach' is to teach progressive gymnastics techniques and physical preparation consistent with USA Gymnastics standards and New Hope Gymnastics' mission, vision, and values. This applies across both our Developmental and Xcel competitive programs. This means being encouraging, energetic, and supportive with every athlete and parent. Each 'Team Coach' should know how to run a practice from start to finish, master required skill progressions whether foundational developmental tracks or customized Xcel routines and communicate effectively regarding athlete progress and competitive goals. Coaches must teach proper skill progressions, foster a positive environment, and keep athletes active through dynamic drills and conditioning. A 'Team Coach's' goal for each athlete should be to perfectly balance technical skill development, physical conditioning, and fun. Each coach should safely spot and teach skills for their assigned levels, maintain class discipline, and follow all USAG and administrative policies that apply to the 'Team Coach' position.
Requirements:
Requirements Current USA Gymnastics (USAG) Professional/Member Registration & SafeSport Certification 2 hour 'New Hope Gymnastics Orientation' training 16 hours of individual training with a 'Lead Team Coach' or 'Team Program Director' Knowledge of all current: 'USAG & New Hope Body Shaping Fundamentals' 'Developmental & Xcel Event Skill Progressions' 'Xcel & Developmental Compulsory/Optional Routines and Code Rules' Your role will include: Teaching gymnastics for our Developmental and Xcel competitive team athletes Leading energetic, structured practices that keep gymnasts focused, conditioning, and progressing Using our New Hope coaching methods to teach skill progressions, encourage discipline, and build routine consistency Maintaining a safe, highly technical, and positive training environment at all times Communicating regularly with parents regarding their athlete's growth, skill milestones, and competitive goals Collaborating with team directors and fellow coaches to foster a supportive, unified team culture Participating in occasional meets, team events, staff meetings, or special programs as needed Completing a 24-hour short-term temporary assignment (6 hours shadowing and 10 hours co-leading) upon passing the interview process to assess performance during initial training (completion does not guarantee a regular offer)
