This role involves developing basketball skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship among freshmen students. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for coaching, a strong background in sports training, and excellent communication skills to motivate and guide players both on and off the court. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the athletic experience of our students while promoting healthy competition, discipline, and personal growth. Responsibilities Plan and execute engaging practices focused on basketball fundamentals, team strategies, and skill development for freshmen players Lead the team during games, providing tactical guidance and motivating athletes to perform at their best Foster a positive team environment emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all participants Communicate regularly with student-athletes, parents, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and player development Coordinate with school administration to organize practice sessions, games, tournaments, and other team events Maintain proper safety protocols including AED operation and first aid/CPR readiness during practices and competitions Experience Proven experience coaching or leading youth sports teams, particularly basketball or similar team sports such as soccer or cheerleading Background in sports-specific training instruction with knowledge of basketball techniques and strategies Demonstrated ability working with children or adolescents in educational or athletic settings Familiarity with behavior management strategies to promote discipline and positive conduct among students Strong communication skills for effective client (student/parent) interaction and team leadership Experience in first aid, CPR certification, AED operation, and child safety protocols is highly preferred Previous involvement in sports coaching or teaching physical education at the school or community level is advantageous Join us as a Boys Freshman Basketball Head Coach to make a lasting impact on young athletes' lives!
