Job Description

Preschool & Beginner Gymnastics Coach Pay:
$17.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience and role WestCoast Training Center in Livermore is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable gymnastics coach who especially enjoys working with young children. Our immediate need is for a coach to take over a specific Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday schedule consisting primarily of our Tiny Tumblers preschool classes (ages 3-5) and Gym 1 beginner gymnastics classes. We are specifically looking for someone who enjoys teaching preschool-age children and understands that coaching this age group requires patience, enthusiasm, creativity, structure, and strong class management skills. This is a great position for an experienced gymnastics, tumbling, cheer, or preschool movement coach looking for a consistent part-time schedule. Additional classes and coaching opportunities may become available over time.

We are looking for someone who can commit to the following schedule: Mondays Gym 1: 4:00-5:00
PM Tiny Tumblers:
5:15-6:00 PM Gym 1: 6:20-7:20 PM Wednesdays Gym 1: 3:00-4:00
PM Tiny Tumblers:
4:15-5:00
PM Tiny Tumblers:
5:15-6:00
PM Saturdays Tiny Tumblers:
9:15-10:00
AM Tiny Tumblers:
10:15-11:00
AM Open Gym Lead:
11:30 AM-1:00 PM This is the schedule we need filled immediately. As our program continues to grow, there may be opportunities to add additional classes for a coach who is interested in more hours.
WHAT YOU'LL TEACH
Tiny Tumblers (Ages 3-5) Our preschool gymnastics program introduces young children to gymnastics through age-appropriate instruction, movement, coordination, strength, flexibility, and basic gymnastics skills. Gym 1 Our beginner recreational gymnastics class focuses on foundational gymnastics skills, body positions, strength, flexibility, coordination, and safe skill progressions. Open Gym The Saturday coach will lead and supervise Open Gym, maintaining a fun environment while ensuring athletes follow facility and equipment safety rules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead safe, organized, and engaging preschool and beginner gymnastics classes Teach age-appropriate gymnastics skills and progressions Keep young children engaged while maintaining structure and control of the class Provide positive corrections and encouragement Maintain appropriate safety standards throughout class Set up and organize stations and equipment as needed Communicate professionally with parents and staff Lead and supervise Saturday Open Gym Be dependable, punctual, and consistent with the assigned schedule
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience working with children is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have coached or taught preschool-age children.
Ideal candidates will have:
Previous gymnastics, tumbling, cheer, dance, preschool movement, or similar coaching experience Experience working with children ages 3-5 Knowledge of beginner gymnastics skills and progressions Strong class management skills A positive, energetic, and patient coaching style Confidence leading classes independently Strong communication and leadership skills Reliable and consistent attendance Most importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys teaching young children and wants to coach preschool and beginner gymnastics.
COMPENSATION & OPPORTUNITIES
