htorres@monroviaschools.net Job Summary Job Summary Monrovia High School is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Coach for the Girls Wrestling team for the 2026 - 2027 season. The ideal candidate will have a clear, strategic vision for the program and a plan for where they see Monrovia Wrestling. With supervision and direction from the Principal and/or Athletic Director the applicant's responsibilities will include:

• Lead and coach the Wrestling team.
• Develop and implement detailed practice plans, focusing on skill development and match strategies.
• Assist with team evaluations, drafts, and game/practice scheduling for the team/s.
• Collaborate with the coaching staff to prepare practice and game plans.
• Ensuring clear communication with athletes.
• Maintain a professional relationship with students, parents, staff, and officials.
• Oversee and support the wrestling team staff, ensuring smooth operations and effective teamwork.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all student-athletes, promoting their development both on and off the field.

Qualifications:

• Previous head varsity coaching experience in wrestling at the high school or collegiate level is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of wrestling techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, coaches, parents, and school personnel.
• Strong leadership qualities, with a focus on the holistic development of student-athletes.
• Experience working with diverse groups of student-athletes and a commitment to creating an inclusive environment.
• Previous experience in organizing and managing sports programs is preferred.
• A deep commitment to the educational values of the school and the academic success of student-athletes.
