Our youth competitive speech and debate programs are designed to ignite critical thinking and foster effective communication, empowering students to confidently and clearly shape their futures. This is our second year in operations, offering speech and debate programs to middle and high school students. Our mission at Discourse Power is to empower students with the skills and confidence to impact the world around them positively. We are hiring speech and debate coaches for our summer camps in June and July. 2 roles. 1) In-person Summer Speech (Public Speaking) Coach 2) In-person Summer Debate Coach Each camp is 2 weeks long, 2 hours each day, Monday-Friday. Two camps in June and two in July.

Debate Camp:

10.30 AM to 12.30

PM, Public Speaking Camp:

1.30 PM to 3.30

PM Summer Debate Coach Responsibilities:

Develop a daily lesson plan, including drills and activities, aligned with the topic lecture. Strong understanding of fundamentals (LD or PF), be able to present topic analysis, and drive the case-making process from start to finish. Teach fundamentals and create drills for cross-ex, rebuttal, weighing, and voters. Provide feedback to students for improvement. The goal is to help students build confidence and develop critical thinking, analysis, and communication skills, inspiring and motivating students. Bachelor's degree or in progress toward obtaining a bachelor's degree. 3-4 years of debate coaching experience in High or Middle schools.

Salary:

Hourly rate dependent on experience and qualifications. A gas allowance can be added to the hourly rate.

Summer Public Speaking Coaching Responsibilities:

Goal:

The objective of the Public Speaking camp is to help students begin mastery of delivery, confidence, communication, and audience adaptation over 2 weeks.

Description:

The camp will focus on key aspects of public speaking. Each lesson will focus on a specific aspect of public speaking, including inflection, body language, memorization, and audience engagement. By the end of the 2 weeks, students will be able to deliver either an Impromptu speech or a pre-written speech from memory (Oratory or Informative), utilizing what they have learned and building emotional, powerful delivery. Students will participate in other impromptu speaking activities each day to gradually build confidence. Submit resume to Bachelor's degree or in progress toward obtaining a bachelor's degree. 3-4 years of speech coaching experience in High or Middle schools in Impromptu or extemporaneous.

Salary:
