In addition to athletic development, the coach will provide guidance that fosters positive character development, including the promotion of moral values, pride in achievement, appropriate social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Required Education and Experience:
  • Completion of a CIF-mandated coaching education course (e.g., NFHS "Fundamentals of Coaching").
  • Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications from an approved provider (e.g., American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
  • Completion of Concussion Awareness and Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) training, as required by CIF and California state law.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license, with a clear driving record (if responsible for transporting student-athletes).
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain Live Scan fingerprint clearance.
  • Negative TB test clearance in accordance with school policy.
  • Knowledge of CIF and NFHS rules, game regulations, and procedures preferred.
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school level or higher preferred. Additional Requirements (upon offer of employment):
  • Criminal background clearance (Live Scan)
  • Negative drug screening
