Job Description

Personal Trainer / Strength Coach The Strength Studio, Inc. Sonoma, CA Job Details Full-time $25 - $35 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Paid training Employee discount Professional development assistance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Exercise Science Physical Therapy Interpersonal skills Attention to detail Physical therapy Full Job Description Build a Career Helping People Stay Strong for Life The Strength Studio is a small, family-owned strength training practice serving Sonoma County for more than 20 years. We help adults build strength safely, maintain their independence, and continue doing the things that make their lives meaningful through private, one-on-one Clinical Strength Training®. We are looking for the right person to join our Sonoma studio and develop into an exceptional strength coach. Starting pay is $25 per hour during paid training, with long-term earning potential up to $35 per hour based on mastery, performance, and contribution. We're not necessarily looking for the person with the longest training résumé. We're looking for someone professional, personable, highly coachable, and genuinely interested in building a long-term career with us. No experience with Clinical Strength Training® is expected. We provide comprehensive paid training in our specialized method. Why Join The Strength Studio? Work privately with one client at a time—no group classes or crowded gym floor. Receive comprehensive paid training in our Clinical Strength Training® system. Build meaningful, long-term relationships with your clients. Receive ongoing mentorship, feedback, and professional development. Develop a high level of skill in a specialized form of strength coaching. Join a small team where your contribution genuinely matters. Follow a clear path for increased responsibility, advancement, and compensation. This isn't a job where you'll simply watch someone exercise. You'll become a trusted coach responsible for helping clients become stronger, more capable, and more confident over time. What You'll Do Coach clients one-on-one using our Clinical Strength Training® system. Guide slow, controlled, highly focused strength-training sessions. Learn each client's program, goals, limitations, and progress. Track measurable improvements and maintain accurate session documentation. Communicate confidently and professionally with clients and team members. Maintain a polished, organized training environment. Participate in ongoing education, coaching, and evaluation. Deliver an exceptional client experience during every visit. We're Looking for Someone Who... Genuinely enjoys working with and helping people. Has a warm, confident, professional presence. Communicates comfortably with adults of different ages and backgrounds. Is dependable, punctual, and takes pride in their work. Welcomes instruction and constructive feedback. Pays close attention to detail. Enjoys structure, precision, and continuous improvement. Works well as part of a small team. Wants to master a craft rather than simply supervise workouts. Is looking for a long-term career opportunity , not simply a job between other plans. What Matters Most We hire for character and potential because we can teach our Clinical Strength Training® system. What we're looking for is the professionalism, curiosity, humility, communication skills, and genuine care for people that make someone an exceptional coach. This position is probably not the right fit for someone primarily looking for a short-term job, planning to leave soon for another profession, building their own fitness business, or looking for a traditional gym environment where trainers create their own programs. Preferred Backgrounds Relevant experience may include: Personal training Exercise Science or Kinesiology Physical Therapy or Rehabilitation Athletics or Coaching Healthcare Education Hospitality or high-level customer service A current certification from an established organization such as NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or an equivalent organization is required before independently training clients . Candidates actively completing an approved certification may also be considered depending on their background and expected completion date. Compensation & Growth Starting pay: $25 per hour during paid training Future increases are based on demonstrated mastery, leadership, performance, and contribution Long-term earning potential: Up to $35 per hour Ongoing professional development and advancement opportunities Schedule & Location Full-time Approximately 25-32 hours per week Daytime schedule In-person position at our Sonoma studio Reliable transportation to Sonoma required Ready to Build Something Meaningful?
