Experienced | Seasonal October-March, part time spring and summer | $20,000-$30,000 per season About Colorado Extreme Colorado Extreme develops young hockey players across all age divisions, building skills, confidence, and a love of the game from first strides through competitive hockey. About the Role The Experienced Youth Hockey Coach leads one or more age groups, from 10U through 14U, depending on program need. This role suits a coach with a proven track record of developing players and running a program, capable of leading practices and games with minimal oversight, and mentoring entry-level coaching staff. Reports to the Director of Coaching. What You'll Do Design and lead comprehensive practice plans across a season, following USA Hockey's ADM Teach advanced skill development: skating, stick handling, passing, shooting, systems play, and game awareness Own game-day coaching: lineups, line changes, in-game strategy and adjustments Mentor and provide direction to entry-level coaching staff Lead player evaluations and development planning for individual athletes Communicate directly with parents/guardians on player development, playing time, and team expectations Ensure player safety and full compliance with facility/league/USA Hockey protocols Collaborate with the Director of Coaching on program structure, team management, and season planning Lead off-ice conditioning, video review, and skills clinics as needed Required Qualifications Significant playing experience at juniors, college, or professional level Prior coaching experience leading a team or age group (multiple seasons preferred) USA Hockey coaching certification (Level 3+ preferred) Background check and SafeSport certification (or willingness to complete before first session) CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain Reliable availability for practices, games, and tournaments, including evenings/weekends Preferred Experience mentoring or supervising other coaches Deep familiarity with USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM) Track record of player development/advancement to higher-level programs
