Open until Filled Description The Danbury High School Athletic Department is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach to join one of Connecticut's premier wrestling programs. This newly created varsity assistant coaching position will play a vital role in supporting the continued growth and development of the program, with a primary focus on mentoring and developing the increasing number of female wrestlers while assisting the Head Coach with all aspects of the varsity program. Responsibilities include assisting with daily practices, match preparation, individual skill development, athlete supervision, and program organization. The successful candidate will help teach sound wrestling fundamentals, foster sportsmanship and accountability, and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture that supports the success of all student-athletes. Qualifications Previous wrestling coaching and/or competitive wrestling experience preferred. Strong knowledge of wrestling fundamentals, techniques, and training methods. Passion for developing female wrestlers and supporting the continued growth of girls wrestling. Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and fellow coaches. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Must meet all CIAC, Connecticut State Department of Education, and Danbury Public Schools coaching certification requirements.
