Position Type:
Part-Time, Enrichment Instructor/Coach About Janney+ Janney+ provides high-quality before-care, after-care, enrichment classes, and camps for students at Janney Elementary School. We create opportunities for students to learn, explore their interests, build relationships, and have fun outside of the traditional school day. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Flag Football Coach to lead a flag football enrichment program for students in 3rd-5th grade . Position Overview The Flag Football Coach will plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate flag football sessions that help students develop fundamental football skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and a love of the game. The ideal coach is energetic, positive, organized, and comfortable working with elementary-aged students. You should be able to create a structured environment where students feel challenged, supported, and excited to participate. Key Responsibilities Plan and lead weekly flag football practices and activities for students in grades 3-5. Teach age-appropriate fundamentals including throwing, catching, passing, route running, flag pulling, defensive positioning, and basic game strategy. Create practices that are active, engaging, and accessible to students with different skill levels and experience. Build a positive team environment centered on teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and inclusion. Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, feedback, and encouragement to students. Maintain a safe and well-managed practice environment. Monitor student behavior and reinforce Janney+ expectations and values. Communicate regularly with Janney+ staff regarding student participation, program needs, and any concerns. Arrive prepared and on time with appropriate lesson plans and equipment. Maintain a clean and organized practice space and properly store equipment after each session. Follow all Janney+ safety, supervision, and student support procedures. Participate in required Janney+ onboarding and training.
What We're Looking For Required:
Experience playing, coaching, or teaching flag football or a related sport. Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably grades 3-5. Strong communication and classroom/group management skills. Ability to create a positive, structured, and inclusive environment. Dependable, punctual, and prepared. Ability to pass required background and safety checks.
Preferred:
Previous youth coaching, PE, camp, or enrichment experience. Knowledge of youth flag football rules and game strategy. Experience adapting activities for students with different skill levels and abilities. CPR/First Aid certification. Janney+ Coach Qualities We are looking for someone who is:

$50-$65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
