We believe soccer is more than a sport — it's a way to build confidence, teamwork, and joy in the next generation. Every Saturday, our coaches lead high-energy, positive sessions where kids fall in love with the game while learning real skills. Head Coach Overview The Head Coach leads Ohana Kids sessions from start to finish — planning age-appropriate curriculum, running the station-rotation format across our Pups, Cubs, and Lions groups, and setting the tone of energy and positivity that defines Ohana. This role also oversees Assistant Coaches on the field and is the primary point of contact for parents each session. Duties Plan and lead weekly training sessions using Ohana's station-rotation curriculum (skills stations, small-sided games, themed weeks) Adapt drills and coaching style for three distinct age groups: Pups (toddlers), Cubs (early elementary), and Lions (older elementary) Direct and support Assistant Coaches during sessions, assigning stations and ensuring consistent coaching quality Demonstrate proper technique and break down skills in a way young children can understand and enjoy Manage behavior and safety on the field, including basic first aid awareness and AED protocol Communicate directly with parents about their child's progress, upcoming themes, and program updates Help plan special sessions and themed weeks (e.g., World Cup Week, Champions League Week) Foster an inclusive, encouraging environment for children of all skill levels and confidence levels Represent the Ohana Kids brand and values on and off the field Qualifications Experience coaching or teaching soccer to young children is required (per program standards) Prior head coach, lead instructor, or program-lead experience preferred Comfortable managing groups of young children (ages 2-8) independently Strong communication skills with both children and parents Reliable, punctual, and available Saturday mornings Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus given our Miami Beach community Background check required Assistant Coach Overview The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in delivering a fun, safe, and skill-building session for our youngest athletes. This is a great role for someone early in their coaching journey who wants hands-on experience working with kids in a structured, supportive environment. Duties Assist the Head Coach in running skills stations and small-sided games Engage directly with kids at your assigned station, offering encouragement and clear, simple instruction Help manage behavior and keep young children safe, focused, and included Set up and break down equipment and station materials each session Support communication with parents at drop-off and pick-up as needed Step in for lead coaching duties when needed Bring energy, patience, and positivity to every session Qualifications Experience with soccer coaching, teaching, or childcare is required (per program standards) Comfortable and confident working with children ages 2-8 Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable, punctual, and available Saturday mornings Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Background check required Why Join Ohana?
