Assistant OL Football Coach - St. Petersburg Catholic High School The Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg - 3.1 Saint Petersburg, FL Job Details Seasonal 20 hours ago Qualifications Mid-level Analysis skills Leadership Full Job Description Position Summary St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Offensive Line Coach to join the Baron Football coaching staff. The Assistant Offensive Line Coach will work closely with the Head Football Coach and Offensive Line Coach to develop student-athletes through technical instruction, competitive preparation, character development, and mentorship. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of offensive line fundamentals, a commitment to developing young men on and off the field, and a willingness to contribute to the overall culture and mission of St. Petersburg Catholic. Essential Responsibilities Assist in coaching and developing the offensive line through effective instruction, demonstration, and individualized coaching. Teach proper offensive line fundamentals, including stance, alignment, footwork, hand placement, leverage, blocking techniques, pass protection, and run blocking. Assist with the planning and execution of daily offensive line practices and drills. Work with offensive linemen to improve strength, conditioning, agility, technique, and football IQ. Assist with scouting opponents and developing game plans specific to the offensive line. Provide instruction and feedback during practices, games, film sessions, and team meetings. Assist with game-day responsibilities, including sideline coaching, substitutions, communication, and adjustments. Study game film to evaluate player performance and identify areas for improvement. Maintain consistent communication with the Head Football Coach and other members of the coaching staff. Help create a positive, disciplined, competitive, and team-oriented environment. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes. Reinforce team expectations regarding academics, attendance, behavior, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility. Support the Catholic mission and values of St. Petersburg Catholic High School. Promote an environment centered on Living the Faith, Rooted in Tradition, while helping student-athletes grow in character and leadership. Attend required practices, games, meetings, professional development, and other football-related activities. Follow all St. Petersburg Catholic High School, Diocese of St. Petersburg, FHSAA, and football program policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach or Athletic Director.
Qualifications Required:
Strong knowledge of football and offensive line fundamentals. Ability to effectively communicate and teach high school student-athletes. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff. Strong character, professionalism, reliability, and leadership skills. Commitment to the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes. Ability to pass all required Diocese of St. Petersburg background screening and Safe Environment requirements.
Preferred:
Previous high school, college, or competitive football coaching experience. Playing or coaching experience as an offensive lineman. Experience with offensive line technique development and film analysis. Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles. Previous experience working in a Catholic school or faith-based athletic program. Expectations of All Coaches All St. Petersburg Catholic coaches are expected to: Put the development and well-being of student-athletes first. Model integrity, accountability, discipline, and sportsmanship. Maintain high standards for academics, behavior, attendance, and athletic performance. Support the Head Coach and contribute positively to the overall football program. Build meaningful relationships with student-athletes while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Represent St. Petersburg Catholic High School positively at practices, competitions, and in the community. Support the school's Catholic identity and mission. Maintain a professional relationship with parents, teachers, administrators, officials, opponents, and other members of the school community. Schedule & Commitment This is a seasonal coaching position requiring a significant commitment during the football season. The coach must be available for scheduled practices, games, team meetings, film sessions, and other football activities as determined by the Head Football Coach. Additional offseason responsibilities may be available based on program needs and the coach's availability.
