Swim Instructor
Job Description
Do you love teaching and sharing your passion for swimming? John's Island Club is seeking a skilled Swim Instructor to provide high-quality swim lessons for individuals and groups of all ages and levels. In this role, you'll focus on teaching proper techniques, promoting water safety, and helping swimmers build confidence in the pool—all while creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
What You'll Do:
Plan, organize, and lead engaging swim lessons for individuals and groups of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced swimmers. Teach proper swimming techniques and water safety skills. Monitor participants to ensure a safe and positive environment at all times. Evaluate swimmer progress and provide constructive feedback. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and members about lessons and swimmer development. Assist with special programs, clinics, and swim events. Support pool operations by keeping the facility clean, organized, and safe.What We're Looking For:
Must be able to swim proficiently and demonstrate proper stroke technique. Prior experience in swim instruction or coaching. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and engage swimmers of all ages. Knowledge of swim instruction techniques and water safety practices. Professional, attentive, and safety-focused demeanor in all aquatic settings. Ability to climb in and out of the pool, perform rescues, and handle emergency situations. Willingness to work weekends and holidays. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Comfort working outdoors in heat, humidity, and variable weather conditions. Neat, professional appearance in accordance with Club standards.
