Bates Air & Heat LLC

Experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician

Job Description

$75,000-$150,000 per year Hourly Base + Performance Pay | Company Truck | Health Insurance | PTO | No Sundays
YOU KNOW HOW TO FIX HVAC. WE'LL HELP YOU MAKE MORE DOING IT.
Bates Air & Heat is looking for an experienced residential HVAC Service Technician to join our team. We're looking for a technician who takes pride in actually diagnosing and repairing equipment — but also understands that great service means looking at the entire system , communicating what you find, and giving homeowners options. We're not looking for a salesman carrying gauges. We're also not looking for an order taker who fixes the first failed part and ignores everything else. We want someone who can fix stuff, communicate with people, and recognize legitimate opportunities.
WHY TECHNICIANS WORK HERE
$75,000-$150,000 annual earning range $25-$30/hour base pay depending on experience Additional performance-based earnings Strong residential call volume Company service truck Fuel card Health insurance Paid time off No Sundays On-call service calls stop at 8:00 PM Clear goals and KPIs Call-by-call coaching and support Opportunity to become a six-figure producer Our service area runs from Cocoa to Port St. Lucie .
YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIGURE IT OUT ALONE
We use call-by-call coaching . If you're on a difficult call, call us. If you've uncovered several issues and need help putting together the right options, call us. If you're technically strong but want to get better at communicating value, presenting options, or increasing your average ticket, we'll coach you through it. We're not going to hand you a revenue goal and tell you to figure it out. We'll help you become better technically, better with customers, and better at producing. Already a strong producer? Even better. Let's see what your current production would pay here.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
When a customer calls with a bad capacitor on an otherwise healthy system, replace the capacitor and take care of them. But if you also find a failing motor, dirty blower, high static pressure, deteriorating ductwork, or an aging system that's becoming expensive to own, don't ignore it. Document it. Show the homeowner. Explain what it means. Give them options. Let them make the decision. That's how we expect our service calls to be run.
WHAT YOU NEED
3+ years residential HVAC service experience Strong electrical diagnostic skills Strong refrigeration diagnostic skills Ability to independently diagnose and repair residential HVAC equipment Comfortable performing actual repairs Comfortable discussing repair and replacement options with homeowners Your own standard HVAC service tools Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Professional appearance and communication Good documentation Coachable and accountable Installation-only or maintenance-only experience does not qualify for this position.
WHO DOES WELL HERE?
The technician we're looking for likes fixing equipment. You want to know why something failed, not just which part failed. You enjoy solving difficult problems. You communicate well with homeowners. You don't believe selling is a dirty word when you're recommending something the customer legitimately needs. You want to know your numbers. You want to improve. And if you're producing more than the technician next to you, you want your paycheck to show it.
COMPENSATION
$75,000-$150,000 per year Compensation includes an hourly base of approximately $25-$30/hour based on experience , plus performance-based earnings. If you're currently a six-figure technician, don't judge this opportunity by the hourly rate. Bring us your production numbers. We'll show you what those numbers could look like here.
SCHEDULE
Full-time | Year-round No Sundays On-call rotation We stop taking on-call service calls at 8:00 PM Service area: Cocoa to Port St. Lucie
BENEFITS
Company truck Fuel card Health insurance Paid time off Performance-based earning opportunities Call-by-call coaching Ongoing training and development
