Job Description

Nestled among the pines on a picturesque 645 acres is the University of West Georgia
- a hidden gem approximately 40 miles west of Atlanta.
Responsibilities Coaching & Athlete Development:
Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching men's and women's cross-country and distance track athletes.- Develop and implement training plans for distance athletes competing in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track.
- Monitor athlete performance metrics and assist with individualized training modifications.
Recruiting:
Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student athletes for cross country and distance events. Maintain recruiting records, communication logs, and evaluation reports in compliance with NCAA and University standards.Academic Support & Student-Athlete Success:
Monitor academic progress and eligibility of cross country and distance student-athletes.- Promote a student-athlete experience that emphasizes academic achievement, personal growth, and graduation success.
Operations & Team Administration:
Assist with travel planning and logistics for cross-country and track competitions.- Assist in the coordination of equipment, uniforms, meet entries, and practice and race-day operations.
- Assist in organizing home meets and community engagement activities Required Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree Required Experience Collegiate coaching experience in cross country and/or distance track.
- Commitment to NCAA Division I rules, regulations, and compliance standards. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience Competitive experience as a collegiate distance runner or cross country athlete.
- USATF or
USTFCCCA
Certification in appropriate disciplines.- Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing distance runners.
- Familiarity with performance analysis technologies, training software, and athlete monitoring systems and regional recognition.
- Work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
