Bettendorf Community School District Job Responsibilities:

The district is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Boys 8th Grade Basketball Coach to lead and mentor student athletes. The assistant coach will be responsible for fostering a positive team culture, promoting skill development, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all players.

Stipend:

$2,126 (2026-27 school year) Qualifications for this position: Must have or be able to obtain an Iowa Coaching license.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with implementing effective practice plans that enhance skill development and teamwork. Attend all practices and games. Provide mentorship and guidance to student athletes, supporting their academic and personal growth. Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and leadership on and off the field/court. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all team members. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and families to support student success. Follow all district, state, and league regulations and policies. Coordinate game schedules, travel arrangements, and equipment needs.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
