Valley High School•Tigerlillies Synchronized Swimming Reports to: Parent Board & Activities Administration Express interest or to learn more: Overview The Tigerlillies synchronized swimming program is seeking an energetic, organized, and confident coach (or coaching pair) to lead our high school team through the 2027 season. This role blends choreography, athlete development, safety oversight, and show production — culminating in two major performances in early April. The ideal candidate enjoys working with teens, values creativity and structure, and can balance being approachable with being a clear authority figure. Time CommitmentPre‑Season (Light)

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership Create a positive, inclusive, and structured environment for all swimmers. Serve as both a supportive mentor and a program leader Collaborate with the parent board, captains, and student leaders. Help enforce timelines and responsibilities assigned to students. Training & Athlete Development Lead dryland and pool practices focused on technique, strength, timing, and artistry. Develop a pre‑season exercise/stretching guide for swimmers (distributed at Nov & Jan meetings). Assign routines and groups based on skill level and team needs. Choreography & Music Choreograph team and small group routines and collaborate with students on duets/trios Assist with music selection, formations, and transitions. Season Operations Participate in pre-season parent/swimmer meeting (December, January). Assist with roster finalization and swimmer placement. Coordinate with lifeguards, pool monitors, and facilities staff to open/close pool area Communicate weekly updates with board/captains (captains typically lead parent and team facing communications) Support administrative tasks such as signups, announcements, and practice logistics. Help plan and execute show week: Rehearsals Show order Ensure all injuries — especially head injuries — are reported immediately to coaches, parent monitors, and parents. Uphold facility rules and enforce safe behavior in and around the pool. Post‑Season Attend end‑of‑season brunch. Participate in a brief retrospective meeting. Assist with season close‑out tasks as needed. Qualifications Experience in synchronized swimming, artistic swimming, dance, or related coaching/teaching roles. (Preferred) Maintain current lifeguard certification (or obtain by agreed‑upon date, financial assistance available). Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work with high school athletes in a supportive, structured way. Creativity, reliability, and confidence in leading a large team. Ability to collaborate with a parent board and student leadership team.
Pay:
