Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Travel Girls (15U) Softball Head Coach with college playin or coaching experience for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop young athletes, fostering their love for softball while emphasizing teamwork, skill-building, and sportsmanship. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will inspire players to reach their full potential both on and off the field, ensuring a positive and motivating environment for all team members. The ideal candidate will bring passion for sports coaching, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to athlete development. Responsibilities Lead practices and game-day coaching sessions, focusing on skill development, strategy, and sportsmanship. Develop training plans tailored to players' ages and skill levels, incorporating sports-specific techniques and drills. Foster a positive team environment by promoting teamwork, discipline, and respect among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and fellow coaches to ensure clear expectations and feedback. Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including proper use of equipment and adherence to health guidelines. Maintain organized records of team attendance, player development milestones, and game statistics. Skills Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on softball or similar team sports. Strong communication skills to motivate players and collaborate with parents and staff effectively. Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction techniques to enhance athletic performance. Ability to manage behavior and foster a respectful team environment through behavior management strategies. Experience in teaching physical education or working with children in sports settings. Familiarity with safety procedures including AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator) use. Background in other physical activities such as swimming, martial arts (e.g., karate, judo), cheerleading, climbing, or basketball is a plus. Previous experience in childcare or working with youth athletes is highly desirable. Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm for sports coaching, fitness training, and athlete development.
