Head Synchronized & Figure Skating Coach Angola, Indiana Summary:
The Head Coach is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating all aspects of a particular sport. Planning, managing, and evaluating the sports program will require the assistant coach to: teach, train, condition, and coach all team members in game strategies and techniques.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the program in teaching theoretical skills such as sport psychology and preparation, demonstrating and teaching advanced skills for a particular sport, mentoring and advising students on personal health and academic matters, organizing and coaching the junior varsity program with the assistance of the assistant coach. Lead the program in the identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Evaluate prospect pool through attendance at high school or sport organization contests. Scout opponents and organize scouting reports. Maintain accurate and complete recruiting records and ensure student-athletes are in compliance with the by-laws of Trine University, the conference, and the NCAA. Lead the program in the promotion of the sport program on campus and in the community. Lead in fundraising activities, camps, and clinics for the sport and for the entire athletic department. Manage and facilitate the recording of sport games/matches. Lead the program in the transportation of student-athletes to and from contests. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is desired; Master's degree is preferred; a proven record of success in intercollegiate athletics including recruiting and Division III experience desired.
