Abilene High School is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in building a competitive wrestling program that reflects our athletic and activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student-athlete development, wrestling fundamentals, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Job Responsibilities:

Support the head coach in planning and leading practices, competitions, and offseason workouts Help develop wrestlers' technical skills, fundamentals, conditioning, strategy, and overall wrestling knowledge Work with student athletes to promote individual growth, confidence, discipline, and competitive mindset Model and reinforce our core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork Build positive relationships with student-athletes while promoting academic accountability and personal responsibility Assist with communication to student-athletes, families, and school staff Help manage equipment and uniforms Collaborate with the coaching staff to support a vertically aligned wrestling program from youth through high school Support the development of a positive, competitive, and team-oriented wrestling culture Uphold all school, district, and KSHSAA policies and expectations
