Position Summary Assists the head coach in the recruitment of perspective student-athletes as well as game-day and practice preparation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities assist in coaching a competitive swim program in a manner which promotes sportsmanship and integrity, ensuring compliance with all NCAA , Northeast conference, and institutional rules and regulations Communicates effectively and often with the head coach and the student-athletes Establish and maintain good personal relationships with student-athletes and staff Assist in providing a supportive, encouraging, and challenging environment for the student-athletes Provide effective and corrective biomechanical feedback to the team, small groups, and individuals Ability to work weekdays -early mornings and/or early evenings, some weekends Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong oral and written communication Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts compatible with the Head Coach and Athletic Department's vision Ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with student-athletes and staff Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor environment that is warm. The employee may get wet.
