$1,300 ($650 fall semester, $650 spring semester)

Part-Time Job Summary:
The Assistant Cross Country Coach supports all aspects of the men's and women's cross-country program. The Assistant Coach will help build and sustain a competitive program while fostering academic success, leadership, and personal growth among student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree required or an equivalent combination of training and coaching experience.
  • Successful coaching and recruiting experience required, at the collegiate level is preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting team practices, training sessions, and race preparation.
  • Provide instruction in cross country training principles, running mechanics, race strategy, and injury prevention.
  • Assist with developing individualized training plans that support student-athlete performance and long-term development.
  • Support meet-day operations, including travel, warm-ups, race management, and post-race evaluations.
  • Help monitor student-athlete fitness, wellness, and conditioning while promoting healthy training habits.
  • Build and maintain positive recruiting relationships with high school coaches, club coaches, and prospective student-athletes throughout Maine and New England.
  • Assist with program operations, including equipment management, travel coordination, scheduling, fundraising initiatives, and team events.
  • Maintain compliance with institutional, conference, and athletic department policies while fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture
