A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Runs practice sessions and physical conditioning programs; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of players; plans strategies for games; motivates and encourage players and teaches good sportsmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS
The following criteria will be used in selecting the position listed above to determine the best qualified coach: Experience as a high school head varsity swim coach preferred. Previous high school assistant varsity swim coaching experience preferred. Must have the organizational ability to coordinate a swim program in grades five through twelve. Must have the ability to work with and give direction to assistant coaches and other related personnel. Consideration will be given to swim experience at the college level. Must be able to relate well to high school students, parents, high school personnel, and the general public. Previous high school varsity swim participation preferred. Must have a minimum of two years of swim coaching experience on the high school level. Must possess a good understanding of swim coaching situations and strategy as determined by the interviewing process. Demonstrate mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District and is expected to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Employees will perform related duties as assigned.
