Overview We are seeking an energetic and motivated Boys Basketball Coach for our Junior Varsity team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young athletes, develop their skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, leadership, and a passion for coaching basketball to help our student-athletes reach their full potential. Responsibilities Plan and execute engaging practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies for the JV boys' basketball team Lead team practices, games, and tournaments with enthusiasm and professionalism Foster a positive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff regarding team progress and upcoming events Monitor player safety during practices and games, ensuring adherence to safety protocols Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful conduct on and off the court Maintain accurate attendance records, game statistics, and team reports Requirements Prior experience coaching or playing basketball at a competitive level, preferably with youth or school teams Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate student-athletes of diverse backgrounds Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff Knowledge of sports-specific training techniques and game rules for basketball Ability to work with children in a positive, encouraging manner while enforcing discipline when necessary Experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain) prior to start date; AED operation knowledge is a plus Additional experience in sports coaching such as soccer coaching, cheerleading, martial arts (e.g., karate or judo), climbing, or gymnastics is beneficial but not required Join us in shaping the next generation of athletes by bringing your passion for basketball and youth development!
