ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, collaboration, and personal growth among student-athletes. Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote a cohesive athletic program. Attend all scheduled games and events, supporting the team and representing Waverly Middle School positively. Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration. regarding practice schedules, game details, and team expectations Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions. Coordinate teambuilding/bonding activities. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of the sport. Willing to attend summer camps. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a high school diploma. Experience coaching volleyball athletes at the middle/high school level. Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Current First Aid/CPR Certification and CPI (de-escalation) certificate or willingness to obtain. Must have attended MHSAA Cap Program or willingness to attend.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to demonstrate the character traits of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring when interacting with staff, students, and community members.
