A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Runs practice sessions and physical conditioning programs; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of players; plans strategies for games; motivates and encourage players and teaches good sportsmanship.

Immediately / Upon Hire Morrice Area Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable individual to serve as the Junior High and High School Cross Country Coach . The successful candidate will provide positive leadership and help student-athletes develop their skills, confidence, sportsmanship, and commitment to the team. Responsibilities Plan and conduct practices for junior high and high school cross country athletes. Provide instruction in running technique, conditioning, race strategy, and injury prevention. Promote a positive, safe, and supportive environment for all student-athletes. Establish high expectations for sportsmanship, academics, attendance, and behavior. Attend and supervise all scheduled practices, meets, and team activities. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and the Athletic Director. Coordinate transportation, meet entries, and other team logistics with the Athletic Director. Maintain and properly care for school-issued equipment and uniforms. Follow all Morrice Area Schools, league, and MHSAA rules and expectations. Complete all required coaching certifications and training. Qualifications Previous cross country, track, running, or coaching experience preferred. Ability to effectively work with junior high and high school students. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Commitment to building a positive athletic program focused on student growth and development.
