Experienced Swim Instructor (Private Pool Summer Position)

Overview We are seeking an experienced Swim Instructor to provide private and small group swim lessons for children ranging from toddlers through elementary age at a family home in Cottage Grove. This role is ideal for instructors with a background in structured swim programs (such as Foss, Goldfish, YMCA, or similar) who are looking for a more flexible, low-ratio teaching environment. Lessons take place in a private, in-ground pool, allowing you to focus on quality instruction and meaningful progress with each swimmer. Responsibilities Lead private or small group swimming lessons for students of various ages and skill levels, ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times Teach water safety, foundational skills, and stroke development Monitor student behavior and provide clear guidance on proper techniques, fostering a respectful and encouraging atmosphere Enforce safety protocols rigorously, including vigilant supervision and emergency response readiness Ensure the pool environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations Communicate progress and feedback with parents Experience Proven experience as a swim instructor Experience working with young children, including toddlers Strong understanding of water safety and progressive skill development Reliable, professional, and comfortable working independently CPR/First Aid certification Additional Details Lessons are held at a private residence All scheduling and family coordination will be handled for you Compensation Earn 50% of all lesson fees collected Typical earnings range from $18-30+ per 30 minute lesson Schedule Flexible weekday daytime and/or evening hours. We will work with you to create a schedule based on your availability
