Immediately Job Description The Richmond R-XVI School District is currently seeking a Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach starting with the 2026-2027 school year. Various teaching certifications are potentially being considered to combine with this position based on District needs and the applicant's credentials.

Title:

Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach Reports to: The head varsity coach shall report directly to the Athletic Director and the Coach shall be evaluated a minimum of once each year.

Qualifications:

Current Missouri State teaching certificate. Previous coaching Experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

Shall be responsible for overseeing the entire grades 8 - 12 boys basketball program and coaches Set up practice schedules with the athletic director Notify parents and athletic director if an injury occurs Transportation requests will be sent to the athletic director File all year end reports: Letter winners Season records Inventory All conference, district, state honors Complete official rating forms and return to the athletic director Shall handle the equipment distribution and collection Submit to the athletic director a budget of needs for the program Fill out requisitions and purchase orders and submit to the athletic director Assist the athletic director with game scheduling Check eligibility of all participants Keep an open line of communication with the athletic director and other administration Arrange for building usage Shall attend Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC) meetings Shall attend MSHSAA rules meetings Shall prepare rosters and present to the athletic director Direct assistant coaches Maintain inventories Enforce training rules Attend practices and games Attend coaching clinics and workshops Be active in off-season camps, shoot-outs and clinics Improve the program by encouraging students to participate in the sport at all levels Shall be supportive of all programs Comply with all policies and regulations as stated in the coaches handbook Coaches may be assigned other duties at the discretion of the administration The head coach will evaluate their assistant coaches
